Service your success

I am standing in a line, 18-people deep, at the post office, waiting for one of 2 windows to open up. It’s smack dab in the middle of Hannukah, 10 days before Christmas, and countless consumers are shipping gifts, packages, and greeting cards.

I am not shipping today. I am standing in this line to pick up a package because this post office has closed the windows for other business, including package pick-up. Why?

Why on earth are there only 2 people on the USPS frontline at this time of year?

Here’s the thing about marketing, which the postal service does. When you anticipate an increase in customers because of natural peaks or because of the success of your marketing programs, service them. Otherwise, we’re less likely to continue being your customers.
